NSF/ANSI 372 is a standard developed by NSF International and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for determining the lead content in drinking water system components.

NSF/ANSI 372 establishes limits on the amount of lead that may be present in water contact materials within drinking water system components.

This standard specifies that a product must be certified as meeting a weighted average lead content of ≤0.25% when it comes to the wetted surfaces of pipes, pipe fittings, plumbing fittings, and plumbing fixtures.

This requirement ensures that these components do not contribute harmful levels of lead to drinking water, helping to protect public health, especially in the context of water used for drinking and cooking.
